Forever in our Hearts!!

The one's we've lost but will Never Forget

Our hearts are broken right now. On October 18, 2016 around 6:35pm we had to make the hardest decision of our lives which was to euthanize our beloved KJ. KJ came to us a year earlier from an owner surrender. He was one of the first horses here at LBL Equine Rescue. Everyone that met him just fell in love with his silly demeanor. He loved to push his face into you even if it meant you falling over. There aren't enough words to describe how much we loved him. KJ you will surely be missed and are forever in all of our hearts here at LBL. Run in Paradise!

Today (10.3.2015) I received a call about two horses who were in dire need of medical attention. I didn't realize how bad it was until I got there and saw Zipper laying on the ground. Not sure how long he had been laying there for. We tried to make contact with the owner but she refused to answer the door. After about two hours, we finally made contact with the owner and then about another two hours to get the owner to relinguish Zipper's rights over to LBL Equine Rescue. After another hour or two, Zipper was loaded into the trailer and taken to the vet. The vet confirmed our worst fears and had to be euthanized. I didn't know this horse for very long but he was so affectionate and loving. He would place his nose in your face, begging to be loved on. My heart tore when he crossed the rainbow bridge but happy that he is no longer in pain.
